Character Building and Servant LeadershipThis class is built on the principles of how Christ served. It has the underpinnings of grace and kindness – which are much needed ingredients in our society today. Our students will discover their strengths and how they can best be used to serve others in a leadership role. This class will include choosing a project the students are passionate about and engaging in activities to help their ideas come to fruition. We will explore a variety of ways to make a difference in the world.
SpanishCome! Vamos hablar español! Let’s take a journey to other parts of the world where the language of Spanish is spoken. Students will learn the language through dance, music, art and reading just to name a few. We will listen to stories, learn many songs, and keep an ongoing vocabulary list. We will build our skills with bi-weekly lesson plans taken from Sonrisas Elementary Spanish Curriculum.  For our returning and older students, we will continue with Sonrisas Level 2. Students will learn different cultures and customs, while focusing on conversation with each other. So come along, y vamos hablar español!

MusicIn this music class, students will be given an introduction to playing, reading, and performing music as we learn to play the ukulele! We will learn about the language of music build a foundation for music theory while we dive right and learn to play songs together as a group. Students will learn how to practice, how to listen to each other, and how to take care of our instruments. We will explore a variety of styles and build confidence together, then we will bring it all together at the end of the year to perform what we have learned.Mrs. Nicole
PEStudents will  participate in games and guided activities that help develop coordination and agility, as well as cooperation and teamwork.  
Spanish/Multiculturalism
2nd Fridays Epic DisastersEach month we will explore global disasters through the lense of Engineering, Science, History, and Art. We will understand natural disasters, engineering designs that combat our chaotic world and engineering disasters that haven’t always protected humans.Mrs. Frankenberg

BibleIn this class we will learn more about Jesus through the eyes of an eye witness of Jesus’s ministry, the apostle John. We will read through and discuss the Gospel of John, with the goal of it transforming our lives. (Students will need a Bible for this course).Mr. Fantacone
Phun with PhysicsAn activity-based class exploring the wonders of nature. We’ll separate light into the colors of a rainbow, launch model rockets to discuss the laws of motion, create electric circuits, build magnets, and use Helium to learn about sound waves and talk like chipmunks! These are just a sampling of the things we’ll do to better understand and celebrate God’s amazing creations.Mr. Fantacone
Advanced Conversational SpanishFor the upcoming school year we will be partnering with Sonrisas Spanish to bring you a fun filled Spanish learning experience.
Through the application of Sonrisas Spanish students will have the opportunity to engage in three modes of communication interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational to increase both verbal and written skills.  Students will be given opportunities throughout each lesson to engage in conversation, provide and obtain information, and express feelings and opinions. They will be asked to present information, concepts, and ideas to both listeners and readers. Students will also be asked to engage in meaningful communication that reinforces and develops their knowledge of other disciplines through language driven, content-based lessons.
Each thematic unit aligns with an essential question that will connect students to their use of language in an intentional and meaningful way. Students will be creating partner dialogue for audience presentation with each introduced lesson. So come! Let’s learn some Spanish! ¡Vamos hablar español!

2nd Fridays C.S. Lewis Book ClubExplore philosophy, modernism, and apologetics through the lens of CS Lewis’s Space Trilogy. This class will work through CS Lewis’s trilogy throughout the year in a once-month-academic book club format. Students will be given chapters to read, essays to complete, and discussion questions to prepare for our monthly sessions. Throughout the year, students will learn to write quality academic essays that reflect personal opinion, learning, and abstract thought, as well as read and assess works of literature for literary elements and deeper meaning. Mrs. Frankenberg
