General Announcements

Google Classroom and Newsletters: All classroom links can be found on our Stay Connected page! This page also has the links for our social media and our Newsletter sign up. You’ll need to initiate the newsletter sign-up, check your email, and confirm you want to receive it to start getting it directly in your inbox. Classroom is where you will see class-specific updates and plans, the newsletter will be for general campus or all-campus information. Staying connected with both will help you stay in the know!
Rock T-Shirts: All Pre-K-6th students MUST be in their Rock t-shirts. Upper School students are highly encouraged to wear them. For more information on our Dress Code, check out our Student Handbook. If you didn’t get a shirt at the Meet and Greet or missed the Meet and Greet, we will have a shirt on hand to give you on your first day of classes! Additional blue shirts are available for purchase for $10. Black, gray, and blue long-sleeved, short-sleeved, and hoodies are also available for purchase and are within the dress code. We are about to place orders for more shirts and hoodies–so let us know by emailing admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org or filling out an order form if you’d like to order some extra shirts! You will pay when they get delivered.
Tuition for those paying monthly: A couple of years ago we changed our financial policies. This change included collecting last month’s tuition up front along with any fees.
This means that, theoretically, you paid fees and May 2023 tuition when you enrolled, and then you will begin monthly (September through April) tuition payments this week!
Some people are still playing catch up with this change of policy.
If you JUST paid your fees upon enrollment, you will owe TWO months of tuition in September (September and May)–please contact ASAP if you need to make payment arrangements! Late fees begin being assessed for all unpaid September tuition starting on 9/19. If you just paid fees up front, and then you pay September tuition, you are a month behind.
Supply lists: Are on our website! Let us know if you need help figuring out what stays at school and what travels with your students. There are little asterisks next to general campus supplies (supplies that stay on campus). As a general rule: Personal hand-sanitizer, pencil bags, sketchbooks, binders, and spiral notebooks stay with the student while bigger supplies stay on the campus.
Daily Schedules: Those are also on our website! Homeroom teachers are also listed on the daily schedules (Homeroom teacher is the teacher that students see during their Character Building period).
Annual Calendar: Our calendar is also up on the website. This includes all breaks, special weeks (like Crazy Sock week), and other events. Any classroom-specific celebrations will be posted in Google Classroom by the teacher hosting the celebration.
Birthday celebrations: We LOVE to celebrate our student’s birthdays! If your student has a birthday coming up, you’re welcome to bring in treats to share. Please let us know in advance so that we can notify families who have food sensitivities/allergies/preferences towards bringing their own treats. You may contact your homeroom teacher, or just reach out to Mrs. Jay-Turner or me (Mrs. Frankenberg) and we will pass the message along.
Campus Security: All of our doors are locked once school starts. If you need to arrive late, are taking an a la carte class so you’re dropping off at a different time, or are leaving early, the doors will be locked. Please text your campus lead (on your Welcome Letter–included below just in case you lost it/didn’t get it) to notify them of any late arrivals/early departures/if you’re stuck at the door and can’t get in! Please DO NOT drop off your student at the door and just leave–please make sure they get inside!

Monday Round Rock

First-day instructions K-6th: When you arrive on this campus, you’ll pull to the left side of the church (go straight from the entrance) for drop-off. The teachers will open the side doors at 8:45 and will walk your students into the sanctuary for morning assembly!
Pre-K Parents can either drop their students off in carpool OR park on the right side of the building and walk their students in!
When you come back to pick-up your students, they will also come to this door (hopefully right at 2:30–we don’t open the doors until everyone is settled and organized). Please form TWO LINES when picking up. We will have cones out to help direct traffic. We will also have teachers outside helping. This is to ensure we get everyone off the busy road as quickly as possible
Please have your student’s name and grade written on a piece of paper in BIG letters in your passenger side window or windshield!

Lunches: Students have lunch at either 12 or 12:30 depending on age (younger students eat first). All lunches need to be stored in their lunch bags–we do not have refrigerator space OR microwaves available. Students who are sent with a lunch to be warmed up will end up eating a cold lunch–and that’s a bummer! Please make sure that their lunch boxes and items are labeled if they’re not disposable!

Half-Day Pre-K- students who are taking half-day classes will be ready at 12pm for pick-up! Come to the double doors in the center of the right side of the building for pick-up.

Welcome Letter (handed out at the Meet and Greet).

Cedar Park West-Tuesday

First-day instructions K-6th: When you arrive on this campus, you’ll pull all the way to the back green building (there’s a wooden playground out front). This will allow you to drop your student off to the teacher near the playground and then loop around the loop to head back out.
Pre-K Parents can either drop their students off in carpool OR park to walk their child in. If you park in the spots near the stone house, you might get trapped. I’d park near the sanctuary and walk across the lawn!
When you come back to pick-up your students, they will also come to this loop (hopefully right at 2:30–we don’t open the doors until everyone is settled and organized). We will have cones out to help direct traffic. We will also have teachers outside helping. This is to ensure we get everyone off the busy road as quickly as possible. If the line extends to the sanctuary parking lot, please form two lines so that we can keep people off 1431.

Upper School Students: Will start Tuesdays off in the library (stone house). The door will be unlocked at 8:45. The door we use is in the middle of the house with an awning over it. We will then move to the sanctuary for Psychology and then back to the library for the rest of the day. Upper School students do have access to a fridge, microwave and stove (I guess if you’re in the mood to cook yourself a meal?).

Welcome Letters (handed out at the Meet and Greet).

Cedar Park East-Wednesdays

First-day instructions: When you arrive on this campus, you’ll pull up to the gym building to drop-off. The entrance we use is the last set of double doors and is covered by an awning. Carpool runs FROM 1431 to loop around the building/behind the gym counterclockwise and back to 1431. You may pull through the recovery center’s parking lot, but you must park behind the building or loop around to join carpool from the correct direction. Please do not park in the spots that run along the building/carpool spots–this includes ALL spots in front of the gym doors and the ones across from them before you get to the right exit/the road that goes through to the recovery center. You will get trapped or run over kids (neither of which are good). You may park in parking lot closer to the main building and walk your child in or park around back. If you drive through the recovery center’s parking lot (pulling in off Arrow Point), you need to maintain a speed of 5mph. If we do not abide by their request to limit our speeds, we will be asked to not use that entrance.

When you come back to pick-up your students, they will also come the gym door (hopefully right at 2:30–we don’t open the doors until everyone is settled and organized). Please form TWO LINES when picking up. We will have cones out to help direct traffic. We will also have teachers outside helping. If you are in the left lane (closest to the building), you will have to loop back around to exit the parking lot via 1431, if you’re in the right lane, you will have to exit through the recovery center’s parking lot and onto Arrow Point drive.

Please have your student’s name and grade written on a piece of paper in BIG letters in your driver’s side window or windshield!

Welcome Letter (handed out at the Meet and Greet).

Georgetown Wednesday

First-day instructions: When you arrive on this campus, you’ll pull onto the right side of the building and loop around (counter-clockwise) to the back near the playground. ALL students will start off in the sanctuary (we went back and forth about that at the Meet and Greet, if I remember correctly). That means students will walk into the doors that are in the middle of the playground. We will get started with Life Skills after arrival, so some weeks we’ll be in “The Garage”, some weeks we will be in the sanctuary, and other times in the kitchen! Once we get some Lower School kids, we might switch stuff up.

Lunches: Please make sure that their lunch boxes and items are labeled if they’re not disposable! Upper School students do have access to a microwave, I don’t know about the fridge for sure, but I think there’s one we can use 🙂

Welcome Letter (handed out at the Meet and Greet).

Cedar Park West Thursdays

When you arrive on this campus, you’ll pull all the way to the back green building (there’s a wooden playground out front).
When you come back to pick-up your students, they will also come to this loop (hopefully right at 12, if you’re just doing STEM, and 2:30 if you’re joining us for Orchestra–we don’t open the doors until everyone is settled and organized). Thursdays are a little smaller and slower than Tuesdays so we shouldn’t have issues with backing up onto 1431.
Please have your student’s name and grade written on a piece of paper in BIG letters in your passenger side window or windshield!

Lunches: Students have lunch at either 12 if they’re staying with us for Orchestra.

Upper School Students: Will start in the stone house/library, but be picked up in the Green Building at the end of the day.

Welcome Letters (handed out at the Meet and Greet).

First-Day Instructions: This campus has many buildings! The last building is our main location. There is an awning that you can pull under to drop off or you are welcome to park and walk your student in!

TREA Newsletter: 2/7-2/11

Updated 2/6 at 7:30pm

Hello! Hope you all stayed warm during our quick Texas winter!

Get ready for the “Soup”er Bowl!! THIS week!

Students this week (February 7th-11th) will be competing to see which campus can donate the most canned and pantry goods! All donations will go to Round Rock Area Serving Center and Operation Liberty Hill. The campus with the most donations will win a popcorn party!

Part of our “Soup”er Bowl Celebration is Sports Week! Come wearing your favorite team’s jersey or sports gear!

Let’s talk money for a minute…

  • If you haven’t paid tuition for January, it’s a great time to get caught up! Contact Mrs. Jay-Turner if you need to make arrangements with her. 512.653.2323.
  • Tuition for February is due!
  • As the 2021 tax season wraps up, get a jump on 2022 and your tax deductible charitable donations. Just click on this link to donate to our Scholarship Fund, directly benefiting our school families in need of financial assistance. We can provide you a donation receipt and are a registered 501(c)(3).

Friendship Week: February 14th-18th!

Each campus will be celebrating love and friendship the week of the 14th-18th (sorry for the confusion last week!).

Cards for students (including candy if you wish) ARE allowed. Please send a large ziploc bag with your student to hold any gifted Valentines or candy until the end of the day. We don’t need a repeat of the Great Sugar Rampage of Christmas 2021 (I think we were all so excited about so many Covid restrictions lifting that we all had a bit too much sugar the week before Christmas vacation)! This also ensures that families are able to decide what their children consume. Please do not write names on cards as that quadruples the time it takes to hand out cards and takes away from valuable classroom time and time celebrating!

Exciting Things Ahead at TREA

Have you considered adding an additional day of TREA classes? We have a couple new things to consider!

Classes begins at our new Northwest Round Rock campus on Wednesday, March 2nd! Classes may be taken À la carte or as a full day. Currently enrolled TREA families receive a multi-location discount and waived enrollment fees.

Join our director for a tour of the campus this Thursday, Feb. 10th, at 2pm!
The Life Academy
3620 Hillside Dr.
Round Rock

We are also offering Orchestra classes at our CPW campus on Thursdays from 1-2p.m. Our Orchestra class begins this Thursday, February 10th. The class is only $45, available for grades K-5th/6th. This class will take place after our STEM morning classes and a lunch break. Students are welcome to enroll in just Orchestra or you can add STEM classes, too! Contact us if you’re already enrolled at TREA (any campus) and you’d like to add Orchestra!

Campus Specific Reminders:

  • This week on CPE, students can bring their own sets of dominoes for Science!
  • CPW Tuesday campus is doing a Hot Cocoa Day on February 15th. Sign-up to help bring supplies, here!

Stay Tuned!

In the next Newsletter, we will be releasing information about Summer Camps at TREA and enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year!

The campus(es) with the most cans collected will win a popcorn party! Food collected will go to local churches and food pantries. Please do not bring them to campus until the week of the drive!

We are excited to announce our newest campus, open for enrollment this spring! Beginning March 2, classes will be held each Wednesday through May 18 at The Life Academy at Brushy Creek. More details will be on our website this week!

If interested, please contact the director, Angela Jay-Turner, via text at (512)653-2323 or email director@therockenrichmentacademy.org

In addition to our new campus, we will begin offering Orchestra class on Thursdays at CPW after STEM. These classes will be from 1pm-2pm. Students may take this course a la carte or they may stay after STEM to participate. More information will be on our website soon! Start date to be determined based on interest and numbers.

Have you gotten your yearbook yet? This year’s yearbook is full color, hardcovered, and going to be great! Make sure to order yours before the Spring price increase. Go here to order.

A few things to keep in mind for the coming weeks:

  • School pictures for redos and new students will be the first week of April. You can find the calendar here. If you’d like your student’s pictures retaken, message yearbook@therockenrichmentacademy.org to make sure you get on the list! If your student was crying or sad in their picture, I already have them written down for retakes (thankfully those numbers are super low!).
  • Tuition for February is due this week! Make sure to contact Mrs. Jay-Turner if you need to make arrangements. Otherwise, you can hand a check or cash to any teacher at drop-off or pick-up!
  • We do allow thoughtful notes and cards during the week before Valentines Day to celebrate Friendship Week. If your students brings cards, they need to bring them for the whole class. To make life easy on everyone, please don’t include names on the cards! Class numbers will be posted tomorrow, so I will update with this post with a link. Numbers will also be posted in Classroom. We don’t have any campus-wise parties planned, but we are collecting canned foods to show love to our community the week before! Individual teachers might post things on their Google Classrooms if they are doing something with their whole class to celebrate love and friendship that week!

TREA Newsletter: 1/17-1/21

Hello! Welcome to a new week!

Round Rock Still in Session Monday, January 17th

As a reminder, we ARE meeting at the Round Rock campus on Monday despite it being Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Round Rock ISD being out of school. Mondays tend to be a heavy day for federal holidays and we’d hate for this campus to feel like they’re getting less days or getting penalized for choosing this campus, so we decided to try out meeting on these historically “off” days to see how everyone handles it. Your feedback is welcome on this topic for next year’s calendar.

Art Supplies Reminder

Please make sure you’re ready with all your supplies! We’ve had a few students leaving their colored pencils, watercolors, and other art supplies at home and it has been making Art Class difficult for them! Each campus is a little different, so check out your campus’ supply list to make sure you have the correct items.

Covid Cases and Health Screenings

With school back in action, and community spread of Covid at peak numbers, we have also seen a few cases within our school. Thankfully, our one-day-a-week model is proving to be particularly helpful as most people are able to quarantine as soon as they’re sick and they haven’t been around others. However, we have seen an uptick in cases.

Please make sure you’re completing the Daily Health Screening! This is a simple online form that helps keep us all accountable to feeling our best before we come to school.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you’re questioning whether or not you should send your child to school.

Keep in mind–we are still maintaining a 10-days from symptoms quarantine standard. This keeps in line with most district’s policies. Negative Covid tests are not considered standard practice for returning to school after infection as they are good tools for initial diagnosis but not confirmation of transmissibility (or lack thereof). When in close contact to someone who is Covid positive with no personal symptoms, return to school expectations align with current CDC recommendations. Day 0 is day of exposure and Day 6 would be the first day of returning to school (CDC recommends 5 days of isolation to allow for the development of symptoms if exposure turns into infection).

Please note that the CDC’s recommendation is much more nuanced based on vaccination status and other factors. To read more, go here!

And a few more bullet points for the week:

  • Tuition for January is still due! Please hand off a check or cash to any teacher at carpool or you can contact us to make arrangements.
  • Yearbooks are still for sale! Make sure to purchase yours today. They’re full-colored and hard-covered. They’re going to be amazing this year!
  • With the weather cooling off, now is a great time to purchase a TREA hoodie! Mrs. Jay-Turner just ordered more, so make sure to get yours reserved today! Text 512.653.2323 for more information.

Have a safe, healthy, and wonderful week!

Welcome to Spring 2022: 1/10-1/14 Newsletter

Hello! I hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday break! Here are a few reminders as we get started back this week!

First: with the surge of Covid cases, please make sure to be completing the Daily Health Screening prior to drop off each day. This needs to be completed online for each one of your students! I know it may feel like one more thing that we need to do in the morning, but it ensures that we as a program are abiding by our rental agreements and ensures we are being accountable for our promise to students and families to stay as healthy as possible! To read more about our Covid policies, go here!

How do the symptoms of seasonal allergies differ from COVID-19? In general, the key differentiating factors between COVID-19 and allergies are fever and body aches (malaise). Typically, you do not see either symptom in allergy sufferers. While you may see some mild fatigue with allergies, the fatigue we are seeing with COVID-19 is extreme. People with Covid might just feel like they have a cold, but even those who have been vaccinated and boosted report that their fever and tiredness is more extreme than a typical allergy response. When in doubt, stay home so that we can honor our students, their families, and all those we come into contact with!

Please check your student’s personal supplies to make sure they have:

  • Labeled jackets, waterbottles, and lunchboxes
  • Art supplies like colored pencils, watercolors (if required for their campus), and markers are in their backpacks (please label those, too!)
  • Students on Wednesday/CPE can bring magnets or magnet kits with them for the next two weeks (make sure they’re labeled if you want them back!). Any size of magnet is welcome!
  • If you need a waterbottle or school shirt/hoodie so that your student is following dress code, email director@therockenrichmentacademy.org to get supplies!

Tuition is due! If you still owe December’s tuition, please contact Mrs. Jay-Turner and make arrangements as soon as possible to get caught up! January tuition is also due!

Looking to the future: The week of February 7th-11th (the week before the Super Bowl), we will have Wear Your Favorite Sports shirt week and we will also be holding our first “‘Soup’er Bowl Competition” between the campuses! All campuses will be collecting canned goods to help restock local food pantries after the holiday surge!

TREA Newsletter: November 29th-December 3rd

Hello all! Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We hope that you had a restful week with family and loved ones. We have a LOT happening over the next three weeks and before we break for Christmas. Make sure you’re checking Google Classroom to stay up to date on things happening in individual classes!

We have themed weeks every week from now until Christmas Break!

This coming week the theme is “favorite holiday shirt or sweater”–come ready to wear your funniest, cutest, or even ugliest holiday shirt or sweater!

Next week, December 6th-10th, is “favorite Christmas hat or headband”–track down your antler ears, silly Christmas tree hats, or create your own masterpiece!

December 13th-17th, come decked out head to toe in whatever Christmas themed items you’d like to wear! Have a favorite elf costume? Love cute Christmas leggings? You can wear it all!

Blessing Bags day is coming up! ALL campuses, all students and their families, are invited to join us at the CPW campus on Thursday, December 9th from 12:00-2:30pm for a potluck soup lunch and to assemble bags to gift to the homeless in and around Austin. We have enough bags, but still need some supplies!

We are still gathering supplies for Blessing Bags Day! We have enough bags for the day, but we still need non-perishable food items, gloves, warm blankets, hand-warmers, and toiletries. It would be amazing if each family purchased items to assemble their own bag to gift and a couple extra items to share. Complete list of needed items can be found on our Blessing Bags information page!

Over the next few weeks, teachers will be doing various things to celebrate the Christmas holidays. We will post in the Newsletter reminders, but make sure to check your student’s google classroom just in case something is missed. Here’s a list of known events:

  • Round Rock Art needs shoeboxes for tomorrow, building materials for 12/6, and donations for graham cracker houses for the 12/13–make sure to find more details on Google!
  • Round Rock and CPW Spanish will be doing a fruit salad party the week of 12/13 and 12/14 as part of their Christmas celebrations
  • Music at CPW will be hosting a Christmas performance from 11:30-12:00pm in the sanctuary on 12/14
  • Music at RR will be hosting a performance 12/13. More details to be added soon!
  • Most homeroom teachers will be doing something Christmas related with their students! I will add more details as I have them.

We are still looking for parent volunteers to supervise students during lunch and recess (12pm-1pm) on Monday 12/13, Tuesday 12/14, and Wednesday 12/15 so that teachers can have a short Christmas lunch together. Please text Mrs. Jay-Turner if you’d like to volunteer some time! 512.653.2323

We still have a few Christmas cards left for sale! All Christmas cards were created by TREA students and all purchases support The Rock Education Alliance–our nonprofit that supports our TREA families by providing scholarships for our families in need! For more information, go to our Holiday Cards page!

Have a wonderful week!

We are still asking families to collect and save items for our annual Blessing Bags Day. More on what is needed for our all-campus December 9th event can be found on the event page! One family has generously covered enough bags for this event, but we still need warm hats and gloves, blankets, non-perishable foods, etc.

We will be be setting up a gear store at Blessing Bags day, too. We will have Christmas cards, sweatshirts, extra shirts—including a few long sleeved—and totes and water bottles. Reach out to Mrs. Jay-Turner if you’d like to purchase any of those things beforehand!

News Updates: November 8th-12th

Hello all!

Just a few reminders this week!

This week is Crazy Hat week! Students can come donning their favorite creations or most ridiculous finds!

Carpool updates!

Voting has wrapped up and carpool at the CPW campus is back to normal. Parents will drop-off and pick-up at the loop at the end of the parking lot near the third (green) building! MS/HS students will be back in the middle building (library).

Drop-off does not start until 8:45. Do not drop off your student before then.

Pick-up and Drop-off for the CPE (Wednesday) campus will be a bit different for the next two weeks. ALL cars must enter from 1431 and exit at Arrowpoint in front of the memory care center. NO exceptions: you’ll get stuck! They’ll be fixing the roof on the gym (yay!) so you’ll see a lot of extra cars, but our regular class day will not be interrupted.

School portraits turned out adorable this year (as both the mom of cute kid to the left and the photographer, maybe I’m a smidge biased). You have about 5 more hours to get your order in if you forgot over the weekend! I extended the time for a couple people and figured I’d offer it to everyone! Email me or PayPal yearbook@therockenrichmentacademy.org with questions or your order.

A few more things to be aware of:

Have a wonderful week!

News Updates: 11/1-11/5

Welcome to November!

Lots of reminders from previous editions (scroll down to the bottom for links to previous newsletters):

  • Portrait orders are due 11/5 (THIS FRIDAY)–check your inbox for access instructions. If you never received those instructions, email admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org with the campus your student attends and we will get you going. All make-up photos taken have been uploaded. We are missing a couple CPW students, which will be completed and uploaded tomorrow (11/2).
  • We are still taking orders for gear! Ms. Jay-Turner will have a gear table set up during our book fair (11/15-11/19) for you to purchase directly! Contact her with questions- director@therockenricmentacademy.org. This will also include student-created Christmas cards if they haven’t sold out (more information below)
  • All students need to come with a filled spill-proof water bottle each week! Please notice the “spill proof” part, haha! Some kiddos had a rough time last week and we cleaned up lots of water
  • If you’re on the CPW campus, we have ONE MORE week of being displaced. Pick up is in the loop closest to the sanctuary. Please pull in to the right, loop around the cones, and then create TWO rows for pick up so we can keep our families OFF 1431. Teachers were trying to direct traffic last week and we had SO many parents on their phones that it was rough for all of us!
  • If your student takes medication at any point throughout the day/brings medication to campus, please know that we need to know this! Let us know if you need an Authorization to Administer Medication form or have questions/need clarification. This keeps all of us safe!

And, on to the new stuff!

Our annual calendar has been updated to reflect Christmas Concerts (12/13 for RR, 12/14 for CPW), a date for our Annual Blessing Bags event (12/9 at CPW, but for ALL campuses), and some fun weeks ahead–this week is Crazy Sock week, next Crazy Hat week, and then we have our Favorite Book Character Dress Up week and Book Fair 11/15-11/19! Check our the updates and check back later for more! Times for Christmas performances will be announced soon!

As of right now, CPW campus is still hesitant to allow large, indoor events–likely the concert will be recorded and shared with parents after the fact. If that changes, we will let everyone know!

Speaking of Blessing Bags! We are revamping our annual event! This will include a potluck and assembling bags to gift to the homeless population in our area. Each student will get to assemble their own bag to be able to give away. More information can be found on the event’s page! The supplies for this event are gathered through donations–a list of needed donations can also be found on the information page.

Support our non-profit–which funds our scholarship program for TREA families–by purchasing student-created cards! More information can be found on the Holiday Cards page!

Finally! If you’re new to The Rock, welcome! All newly registered families should have received an email from me with Google Classroom information AND a separate email inviting them to log in to their student’s @therockenrichmentacademy.org account.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help with Google Classroom–we provide SO much information via Classroom that we don’t want you to miss out!

Portraits are Live!

If you didn’t get the email with the password to access your campus, email me at admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org to get a password.

All orders are due 11/5!

Reminder: The PayPal address to submit orders is NOT the same as the address you use to pay your tuition! All payment information is on the order form.

News Updates: 10/18-10/22

Hello! Welcome to fall weather (finally)!

This week we have a few reminders:

Individual pictures are taking place on ALL campuses this week. Students do not need to wear their blue Rock shirts. If they happen to be absent, I will try my best to get their pictures done next week (the 25th-29th).

We still have water bottles ($10), tote bags ($5), and hoodies ($25) for sale. PayPal director@therockenrichmentacademy.org to place your order. Note what items you’d like to purchase in the notes section!

Google News! They finally let me change the settings to allow parents/students handle their own passwords! Let me know if you try to reset your password and you’re unable to do it on your own. If you still haven’t connected with Google Classroom, you’re missing out! Teachers update this weekly with weekly summaries and reviews of what is being taught in class.

  • Make sure you’re doing the daily health screening! We’ve had some upper respiratory stuff going around and we really want to make sure to protect our most vulnerable. Covid isn’t the only thing going around! You can find our online health screening check here: Daily Health Screening!
  • All RR* students should have their own set of watercolors for Art. Please make sure it comes with students each week!

Tuesday/Thursday CPW carpool reminder: due to early voting on this campus, pickup and drop off will be at the loop that goes around towards the sanctuary (the first big building) from now through November 2nd. This means you’ll pull into the parking lot, take a right, and drop off near the end of the parking lot. Teachers will be there to help direct traffic and kids! Pre-K will start in the library (middle building) and MS/HS will get dropped off with K-6th and will be directed where to go.

We have a fun week planned for November 15th-19th! On all campuses we are having a “dress like your favorite book character” day and we will be hosting an Usborne book fair. There will be a parents table at drop off each morning and a $5 student table during lunch each day!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

News Updates: 10/11-10/15

Welcome to a new week!

We were off on the Round Rock campus this past Monday, so this week’s news is going out a bit late. Sorry about that!

Just a few reminders for the weeks ahead:

Next week is Picture Day for ALL campuses. This will be for individual pictures only (we do whole class photos in the Spring). Students often like to dress up for these pictures. Students can change out and in of their blue shirts if they wish, or they can just come dressed for pictures and stay that way all day. All pictures will be taken before lunch to avoid lunch messes!

All parents/guardians should have received an invite to join Google Classroom as a Guardian. This invite would have come to the primary email address you provided. It will link you to a page where you can “Accept” the invitation or change the email address. Once you hit “Accept” (or “Switch Account”), you will get to choose the frequency that you’d like to get Classroom Summaries. If you still haven’t added your students TO Google Classroom and need help, please let me know! I can invite you to join your student’s classrooms if the codes on the Daily Schedules are not working for you (a few have been wonky this year). Feel free to email admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org for help!

We have leak-proof water bottles, Rock logo bags, and hoodies for sale!

  • Water bottles are $10
  • Bags are $5
  • Hoodies come in black or blue and are $25. We have some hoodies in stock and others will need to be ordered. Bags and water bottles will be distributed upon receipt of payment.
  • You can PayPal: Director@therockenrichmentacademy.org with your order OR you can pay via check made out to TREA noting what you’d like to order in the notes on PayPal or the note line on the check.

Mark your calendars: Book fair will be the week before Thanksgiving! Parents will have the chance to shop after drop-off and there will be a $5 student table during lunch.

A reminder about birthdays: We are still following our Covid policies. All birthday treats need to be individually wrapped AND prepared outside the home. Please contact Mrs. Jay-Turner, Mrs. Newell-Frankenberg, and/or your homeroom teacher before bringing treats. That way we can notify the class, provide you class number totals, and make sure you’re aware of dietary restrictions or allergies! It would be terrible to exclude one friend or to create a dangerous allergy situation.

Have a wonderful week!

News Updates: 10/4-10/8

Hello! Time is flying! We have several things coming up:

Monday, October 11th is Columbus Day. That means that all Round Rock schools are off and so are we! We make up for this “missed” day by meeting an extra Monday in May. So, if you’re on the Round Rock campus, please do not show up on Monday!

We have Picture Day in TWO weeks!
On ALL campuses, October 18th-22nd, Round Rock Mondays through South West Austin Friday, students will get individual portraits taken.
Students DO NOT have to wear their blue Rock shirts for portraits.
The yearbook staff did a great job last year and many of the portraits turned out to be beautiful! We will be putting all portraits online (behind a password wall with no student names listed) for parents to view and to purchase!
Heads up: Due to the fact that Mrs. Newell-Frankenberg will be on maternity leave from 11/20-01/10, all picture orders will need to be placed by November 5th so that they can be returned to students by Thanksgiving Break–this means you have less time to order this year, but that they’ll be printed in time for cute Christmas gifts!
If your order isn’t submitted by 11/5, you will have to wait until I return after the Christmas Break to place picture orders. Order forms and portraits will be available for viewing 10/25.

Help us stay organized and keep track of all our new friends! Lots of students have used iron-on letters to write their names on their shirts. You could also use permanent marker to neatly write your child’s name above the Rock log on the front of their shirt! Wearing our Rock shirts each week helps us stay uniform and identifies students from our school easily. Putting their names helps teachers quickly learn names and faces! If you need extra shirts, ask any teacher and they can get you connected to extras for just $10 each.

As a reminder, our annual calendar can be found here! We will be updating it soon with date reminders, book fair information, and more!

Please let me know if you haven’t gotten connected to Google Classroom yet! All teachers post weekly updates and reminders and it is the best way to stay up-to-date on individual events. This week all parents who haven’t been getting Guardian emails will receive an invitation to start receiving weekly summaries of classroom happenings! You can email me at admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org if you need help with anything classroom related (or anything else, really!)

Carpool reminders!
Things seem to be picking up as we get into our groove and learn new systems. Just a couple of reminders:
We do not open the doors until 8:45 a.m. for drop-off. If you’re standing outside the doors waiting and it’s 8:25 a.m., that’s fine, but parents cannot leave unattended children at the doors or drop them off to go sit on the back deck (CPW campus) until 8:45. This is a liability issue so please respect that timeframe. Teachers work diligently in the mornings to be set up and ready at 8:45 for your students!
Similarly, students will not be released until every student and their possessions are accounted for. Teachers are working hard to get everyone organized and back to their parents in the afternoon. Sometimes this means we won’t start immediately at 2:30, but we are working hard to respect your time.
Please help speed up pick-up by writing in big, dark letters on a piece of paper your students first and last name and grade and then place it in your carpool-facing side window or front window!

Reminder: Yearbook prices go up after Christmas, so order yours today!

Finally! We are always so bummed when your students bring toys, they got lost or broken, and we can’t find or fix them. Please help with that by making sure your students do not bring toys or electronics from home. We know that some students do have phones and they NEED to be able to connect to their parents. Please encourage them (as we do) to keep all phones in backpacks unless it’s an emergency or they’ve gotten permission from a teacher.

TREA News for 9/20-9/24

Hello all!

We had a wonderful first week and are so excited to be back with your students again this week.

Some carpool reminders:

RR campus: Always pull out of carpool and back onto Gattis School by taking a RIGHT turn. The road is too busy to safely take a left and it prevents other parents from exiting safely if you’re waiting to go left.

CPW: Tuesday Everyone did a fabulous job parking at the far end to walk their Pre-K students in! As a reminder: Pre-is students go into the large green building behind the playscape, K-6th students get dropped off at the end of the parking lot and walk to the back, and MS/HS go to the middle rock building on the side that faces 1431.

On Thursdays at CPW ALL students (STEM and MS/HS) start in the large green building behind the playground.

CPE: we are aware of the issues with speed and efficiency re:getting the car line off of 1431 and are actively working on solutions for this week to make sure that doesn’t happen. Please do your part by pulling off behind the building and parking after loading your students up if you need to have a conversation or strap students into car seats.

School supplies! Please check your supply list and make sure your student has all the essentials. Several students on Wednesday were missing dry erase makers and they are essential for Math!

Moms in Prayer meets weekly after drop-off by each campus’ playground. Please connect with Mrs. Jay-Turner at Director@therockenrichmentacademy.org to get more information or help spearhead the launch of weekly prayer sessions!

Google Classroom is for everyone! RR students have been invited to join their music classes online and new information is being posted weekly in ALL classrooms, Pre-K through HS. If you haven’t gotten into Google Classroom yet, please let me know as you’re missing important information. Email Mrs. Frankenberg at admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org to get passwords reset or if you need any help.

It’s Back to School Week!

The summer has flown by and we are ready for your return to campus! We are so excited about all the new and returning students this year! We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives.

A few quick reminders:

  • All families are getting a night before “First Day Reminders” email so if you’re on the Monday campus or Tuesday campus and you haven’t received that, please let us know so we can correct our error. These emails include carpool information and a few other key points
  • All families are likely going to have a bunch of school supplies this week! Feel free to hand those off to the teachers you see in carpool or, if your student wants to carry them, remind your student that they don’t have to lug around reams of paper and massive wipes containers all day!
  • Make sure those supplies are labeled and that every student has a waterbottle!!

A cohesive team is a communicative team! As such, we are hoping to find a few parent volunteers to man lunch and recess time once on a month so that teachers/staff can have monthly staff meetings. Please let us know if you’d like to volunteer some time and energy!

Moms and dads in prayer will be meeting on all campuses near the playground right after morning drop-off is complete! Text or email Mrs. Jay-Turner for more information. 512.653.2323 or director@therockenrichmentacademy.or

Remember to fill out your students Health Screening each morning!

If you haven’t gotten your shirt yet, let us know! We have found it to be super helpful if families label their student’s shirts right above the logo. Some families just write the names with permanent markers, others have found white iron-on letters! If you’re inclined, we’d love to see your shirts labeled!

Links to purchase other colors, long-sleeved shirts, and hoodies will be going up soon. You are also allowed to purchase extra blue shirts for $10 each.

Tuition for the month of September is due now! Contact Mrs. Jay-Turner for confirmation of receipt and/or Mrs. Newell-Frankenberg to get a run-down of all tuition/finanicials.

Looking forward to a wonderful year with you!

Google Classroom Information and Reminders

All new families have been sent their new Google Classroom log-in information.

If you did not receive an email from me with instructions and an email from Google Workspace with password reset links, please let me know!

You can email me at admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org.

If you’re a returning family and need your passwords reset, you’re also welcome to email me!

Meet and Greets are also happening this week:

  • Tuesday, September 7th at 10:00am the CPW Tuesday and Thursday students (all Pre-K-6th, STEM, and MS/HS students) will meet! We will be on the back-covered porch.
  • Wednesday, September 8th at 10:00am the CPE Wednesday families will meet
  • Mrs. Turner has contacted all S. Austin families with the dates and times of the Meet and Greet and class!

You are welcome to bring your shared school supplies to the Meet and Greets. These include: baby wipes/sanitizing wipes, packs of paper, watercolor paper, and cardstock. The rest of the supplies will stay with your student and do not need to be brought to the Meet and Greet. You’re also welcome to just bring everything the first day!

As always, please feel free to contact us if we’ve failed to send you a tuition summary, you have questions/concerns, and everything in between! Looking forward to a wonderful year!

News Corner 4/12-4/16

Hello all!

We have four full weeks of classes left! So, the yearbook needs your help. If you’ve taken pictures this past year of events around school, please considering allowing them to be a part of the yearbook! You can get all the information you need to upload them to our secure yearbook by downloading the form below or by downloading the Image Share app on your phone’s app store and using project number: #129814. Images uploaded by others are secure and only the yearbook staff can see what has been shared.

Mark your calendars and get your summer reading lists ready! We will have one last book fair on Thursday, April 29th on our NWA campus.

Yearbooks are still for sale. TODAY (Sunday 4/11) is the last day to purchase a Shout Out ad, but the yearbooks will still be available for purchase until the end of May! Don’t delay and miss out!

It is NOT too late to buy a portrait package or take picture redos. We are STILL working on getting full class photos–please make sure to come to school each week so we can get your students pictured with their class!

You should have an email from Yearbook@therockenrichmentacademy.org with portrait ordering information. If you did not receive that email, check your spam first and then email yearbook to gain access! New families will continue to get photographed as they arrive and all pictures for all classes will continue to be uploaded as we get them. Picture orders do not close until April 23rd!

Have you seen our new hoodies and t-shirts? Coach Martz is collecting orders this week! Ask her for an order form if you’ve misplaced the form handed out last week. All shirts and hoodies are dress code compliant!

News Corner 3/29-4/2

Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Yearbook staff is working as quickly as possible to get all Spring Portraits uploaded and available for parents to browse and order prints. We’ve added new students this week so we are redoing a couple class photos just to make sure we include as many of our classmates as possible (don’t want people to feel left out!). You will see an email by the end of this week with the password to the portraits page as well as information on how to order prints. The company we are working with to create our prints did a WONDERFUL job in the Fall and we are looking forward to working with them again.

Yearbooks are still for sale! Make sure to order one today!

Please make sure your students arrive with a water bottle each week! On many of our campuses we do not have access to water fountains due to Covid.

Next week a new month begins! This means tuition will be due. Feel free to PayPal Mrs. Turner or hand a check or cash in a labeled and sealed envelope to any of our teachers.

Welcome back from Spring Break! We hope you had a wonderful week off! Just a few things to cover this week.

It is Picture Day on all campuses this week! Redos, new students, class pictures, and teacher pictures! You may wear your blue Rock shirt or dress however you’d like. Sales links for portraits will go up next week!

We still have some families that have not paid March tuition. Please remember that there is a late fee after the 10th of each month. If you would like to pay tuition in full for the remainder of the school year, that late fee may be waived. Please contact Mrs. Turner to arrange payment! You may email her at Director@TheRockEnrichmentAcademy.org

We only have 8 weeks of school left! Remember the RR campus will be meeting the week of 5/17 for end of year celebrations, while other campuses will finish the week prior. Please be on the lookout for information on registering for next school year, summer campus, and end of year projects! We will be emailing more information in the coming weeks.

News Corner 2/22-2/26

Hello! Welcome back to school after our week “off” from real life! Hopefully all are beginning to see restoration of power, electricity, pantries, and normalcy!

This week we will be holding classes on ALL of our campuses! The Tuesday campus did have an external pipe burst, but it should not impact our school day. If that changes, we will notify the CPW families as soon as possible! If school is canceled, you will receive a text message as well.

If you did NOT receive the emails and texts last week during all of our chaos, please let me know by emailing admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org. We want to make sure that all of our families are in the loop and don’t ever miss an important piece of communication.

Student, Teacher, and Class Portraits are being moved to the week of March 8th. We definitely didn’t anticipate that our ice storms would impact our ability to wash clothes and take showers! We want to give everyone ample time to get back into the routine of things before having to worry about looking pretty for school. This also ensures that we won’t be taking pictures next week as thunderstorms are predicted the week of March 2nd-5th.

Yearbooks are for sale and the price goes up March 1st! Get yours today while they still cost less!

News Corner 2/8-2/12

Hello!

There’s lots to check out this week. This week we cover:

  • Valentines Day
  • Yearbook
  • New t-shirt and replacement t-shirts
  • Class pictures, redos, and new student portraits
  • Tuition reminder, discount available!

We have gotten lots of questions about Valentines Day. All students are welcome to bring sweet cards to their friends and classmates to show their love. Class totals can be found in the parent directory–this was emailed mid-year from admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org. If you can’t find the email or are a new family, email the above address for information!

  • Yearbooks are for sale! You can order yearbooks by going to the Balfour website.
  • If you’re wanting to purchase a “Shout Out!” for your student (a small block of space where you can boast about your child!), I’m attaching an information sheet and linking the FAQ.

Pricing goes up on the yearbook March 1st–get yours now!

We have heard your cries for new shirt options! We are now offering hoodies, a new style of t-shirt, long-sleeved t-shirts, as well as the option to purchase additional “regular” shirts online! All shirts, regardless of color, will be considered within dress code! (My sensory sensitive kids are rejoicing! )

Follow this link to get your order in during our initial launch!

All apparel will be delivered mid-March. Orders close March 1st.

We successfully completed our first ever student-led round of school portraits and orders. They learned a lot about photography, profits and losses, and how to create and market a product. If you ordered pictures, the yearbook staff thanks you! They’ve all worked so hard to turn plans into action!

If you weren’t a part of TREA when we took portraits in December OR your student got a picture taken that wasn’t picture-perfect, we will be taking portraits in the Spring as well!

More on redos: I’ve already caught a few pictures I’d like to retake already (good opportunity for students to critically evaluate what we are producing), but if you know for sure you’d like your student to do a re-take, make sure to email yearbook@therockenrichmentacademy.org and request a redo! Parents will have the option to purchase both Round 1 and Round 2 pictures. Orders will open March 1st (after our shirt campaign closes), will close March 15th, and will be available for students after we return from Spring Break the week of March 22nd.

CLASS PICTURES, NEW STUDENT PORTRAITS, AND REDOS WILL BE TAKEN THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 22ND.

Finally! Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. If you decide to pay your tuition now through the end of the year (February, March, April and May tuition at one time), you’ll receive a 5% discount!

As always, have a blessed week and please reach out if you need help with anything!

News Corner 10/5-10/9

Welcome to Fall! Hope you all are enjoying the cooler mornings!

If you’re on the Monday or Tuesday campus, make sure you’ve read to the end!

We have many fun things planned  for the month of October!

We will be kicking off a monthly nutrition focus on all our campuses! This month we will be focusing on eating ORANGE fruits and veggies! The class with the most orange in their lunches this month will receive a special prize!

A few new things are on the horizon:

We will be hosting an Usborne book fair on all campuses in just a few weeks!

The fair will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25th through 27th, with the option for parents to order at an outside table right after drop off. Students will be able to purchase books during their lunch hour.

For students, there will be a $5 and a $10 table. Please plan to bring cash sealed in an envelope if they’d like to purchase any books. There will be a great selection of books—all previewed to ensure they line up with the Christian mission of our program.

The same week as our book fair we will also be having Bright Colors/Crazy clothes week on all our campuses. We want to see what crazy combos the students can come up with—feel free to leave your Rock shirts at home and bring on the bright colors!

Tuition reminder: This year has been crazy for so many of us that we completely understand if paying tuition has slipped your mind. You still have time to catch up for September!

And, if you haven’t already, tuition for October is also due!

Tuition can be paid via:

  • check (handed to any of the teachers running carpool)
  • PayPal sent to therockenrichmentacademy@yahoo.com. Please make sure to pay choosing the Friends and Family option so no one pays a fee!
  • Bill pay via your bank: Set it up to send automatically at the beginning of the month!
  • OR feel free to contact Mrs. Turner if you have any other questions!

Reminder for Monday/Round Rock campus:

Next week, October 12th, we are off for Columbus Day! Have a good break.

Heads up for Cedar Park West/Tuesday students: As many of you know, Christ Episcopal often hosts early voting events. This October is no different. As such, October 13th, October 20th, and October 27th, will be a little different! We will be using the front two buildings instead of the back building. Please plan to drop your student off at the front sanctuary building—the teachers will direct you where to go from there! Pre-K students get to use the middle building–the little house!

I’m sure many of you have also noticed that there are regularly Sheriff’s vehicles on this campus. Christ Episcopal provides a free rest-and-gather room, in a separate building from us, for our local law enforcement officers. It’s one of the many ways this church gives back to our community and we are grateful to know we have people watching our for us while we are on campus.

As always, if you have any questions or need help with anything email or Google Classroom related, always feel free to email admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org for any help! If we don’t know the answer yet, we will try to find it.

Thank you for all your patience as we’ve switched over to new platforms for all our methods of communication!

Join us for our 7th Annual Blessing Bags event, THIS Thursday, December 8th at CPW

All are welcome next Thursday, 2pm-4pm on our Cedar Park West campus patio, for our annual “Blessing Bag“ project. Each year we hold this campus-wide community service event as an opportunity to fellowship and serve those in need.

This year our recipient is the community of San Saba, where TREA is expanding its mission with a satellite campus. The community has a 50-60% poverty rate and very recently, the Austin Area Food Bank stopped supporting all of San Saba.

We are asking for donations of children’s clothing and canned or dried food packages. Donations will be collected on each campus this coming week, Monday through Thursday.

During the event, each student may choose to support a boy or girl of a certain age by bagging handpicked clothing outfits, snacks, and a personalized note to share God’s love. Mrs Turner will be delivering all bags to a church in San Saba!

The event officially kicks off at 2 PM. Parent volunteers will arrive at 1 PM to help sort clothing and food, but it is a ‘come and go’ event. Upper school photography students will capture the highlights, help facilitate games, and man snack table with hot chocolate, cider and snacks.

A sign-up sheet to contribute with either time or items can be found here.

Picture Delivery THIS Week!

If you placed an order for portraits prior to 11/28, your pictures have arrived! They will be handed out to your student this week.
If you placed an order on 11/29 or after, I will be submitting those THIS TUESDAY (12/6) so you have a few more days left to get in photo orders if you meant to place on and haven’t. They should arrive by Friday/Saturday 12/9 or 12/10 so that you’ll get your child’s pictures before Christmas. The photo magnets make great gifts!
We are also offering digital downloads this year! To save space, I have upload small images to the website, so if you purchase a digital download, I will email you a compressed full-sized image. I can send JPEG, DNG, or TIFF files (the latter two will be converted RAW files and are fairly large while the JPEG will be around 11-12mb and would allow you to print larger photos, but not a billboard or anything, haha).
Please reach out to me if you have questions! We haven’t gotten photos of all students yet (due to absences or recently joining us)–we will take more photos in the Spring and the photo store will remain open until the end of April.

Coming up!

The week before Christmas (December 12th-16th) all students are asked to wear festive clothes instead of their blue Rock shirts.

And Finally!

Buy your yearbook now before the price goes up!

Ruby Lee’s Corner- Handcrafted earrings by child entrepreneur

Miss Ruby has an awesome selection of earrings she has made (with a few exceptions). She’s had a blast making and selling them at local festivals since June. We are teaching her the value of hard work and how to save her money. She’s got some super cute fall and Christmas ones available, plus some for everyday occasions. Check out her website and be sure to choose “local pickup” when ordering to avoid shipping fees.

Jewell’s Jelly and Jams – Homemade Artisan Jelly & Jam

Four-ish years ago I accidentally started a business and I’ve enjoyed it so much I just keep doing it! I love coming up with all of my eclectic flavors to share with everyone. I also have traditional flavors for the less adventurous. Over 100 flavors actually!! There’s literally a flavor for everyone!! One of my regulars calls me the “Baskin Robbins of jelly.” I have flavors for everyday use plus a ton that are phenomenal for charcuterie boards! If you are looking for something special for your holiday meals or gifts you need to check out my website! There’s an order form link but feel free to text me as well. (Ariel Jewell 512-619-9497)

TREA Newsletter: 11/21-11/25

This week we are on break for Thanksgiving, so there will be no classes on any of our campuses!

I hope you have a wonderful week off celebrating God’s generosity to us!

A Couple Reminders:

  • If you were wanting to place a picture order and receive your pictures before Christmas Break, place your order ASAP! All families should have received an email from me with a direct link to your student’s portraits. Let me know if you didn’t! I know a couple of new families will be getting their pictures after Thanksgiving Break! The print store will remain open all year, but to keep shipping costs low for you all, I will be ordering them in batches. The first order will be placed when we return from Thanksgiving Break.
  • You can go to “Print Store” (top right when you’re in the gallery) to order prints or digital downloads. If you’ve ordered a digital download, I’m working through getting full-sized/raw images to you. You were likely able to download a medium quality image when you ordered and those will be perfectly fine for small prints–but if you are printing an 8×10 or bigger and I haven’t sent you your images, let me know!
  • Yearbook prices go up after Christmas, so order yours today!
  • We do not have any special events the last week of November, but 12/5-12/9 is Crazy Sock Week
  • Our Annual Blessing Bags event will be on December 8th (Thursday) at our CPW campus. All families will be invited to join us in creating Blessing Bags! This year we will be building gift packages to send to our soon-to-be-launching San Saba community outreach program. San Saba is town about an hour northwest and is a very underserved community. We will be releasing a donations request list soon!
  • Christmas Concerts will be held for all orchestra students the week before Christmas Break. More details and times will be released soon!

TREA Newsletter: 11/14-11/18

Hello! Welcome to another week at The Rock!

This will be our last week before Thanksgiving Break! The Rock will be closed for the week of Thanksgiving, November 21st-25th. If you need to access the full school calendar, it is here.

A few changes to the calendar!

I realized this past week that the calendar wasn’t updated after we added orchestra classes to our Wednesday, CPE campus. We will be having a concert on 12/14 for the students in the orchestra classes at CPE. Those details have been posted in Google Classroom, the calendar will be updated soon, and we will release more details soon!

Buy Your Yearbook Now!

Yearbooks increase in price as the year goes on, so the $35 introductory price is only here for a few weeks. You will order and pay for your yearbook directly through Balfour’s website. Go here to purchase! You’ll scroll down to the “Yearbook Product and Ads” and click “Order Now!”

Tuition was due the first week of November! Make sure to reach out if you need some help getting caught up!

Pictures are Rolling Out!

Finally started getting some forward motion on getting our school portraits. I’ve worked my way through most of Round Rock and CPW and am into CPE at this point. Redos are at the very end.

If your child still needs a picture, I will try my best to get them taken this week! If I emailed you a couple weeks ago saying your student needs a redo, and then they were absent, I will be doing those redos this next week.

This year, if you want to order pictures, you have a few options: digital copies (you can both download them and I’ll email you the raw photo), prints, and photo magnets. I will be placing the orders when we get back from Thanksgiving Break so that all prints will be delivered before Christmas Break!

And the winners are!!!

Just realized I never announced the totals for the food drive!

Our school gathered 952.2 pounds of food! Amazing.

To make it fair, we are dividing the totals by total students attending (since our campuses aren’t balanced in numbers right now):

RR= 331.2 pounds total for an average of 6.37lbs/student
CPW= 325 pounds total for an average of 2.69lbs/student
CPE/GT= 296 pounds total for an average of 4.11lbs/student

Which means that despite having the smallest campus Round Rock pulled it off again! We will have a rematch in the Spring!
Round Rock students will get a popcorn party before Christmas Break!
Thank you all for your generosity! The first batch (about 600 pounds!) went to Reveal Resource Center and will directly impact our own communities and neighbors and the remaining amount will be delivered to our soon to be opened satellite campus in San Saba as their community is in desperate need of resources!

This week’s newsletter is sponsored by (families in our program!):

TREA Newsletter: 11/7-11/11

Hello all!

Thank you for all your wonderful food donations. I will be bringing them to get weighed this weekend–we’ve had the flu in our house so I haven’t been able to do it during the week. Winners will be announced Monday! 🙂

This next week is a busy one! Only two more weeks until Thanksgiving!

Book Fairs This Week!

We have partnered with Usborne Books to have book fairs a couple of times per year.

Monday at our RR campus, Tuesday at CPW, and Wednesday at CPE we will have a parent table set up at 9am for parent’s to shop.

All campuses except for GT (sorry GT) will have a $5 student table set up during lunch to allow students to shop during lunch.

You may send your student with money in an envelope (please put their name on it!!), but you’re also welcome to send a Venmo payment to let your child shop (talk to the Usborne lady on the morning of/let us know if you sent money and how much so we can start a list).

Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character!

This week we are also doing costumes but in celebration of reading! Students may come dressed like their favorite book characters. Please no scary masks or full-face makeup that could be frightening.

Epic Disasters in South Austin!

If you enjoyed Epic Disasters over the summer, next Friday from 10:00am-2:30pm we will be hosting Epic Disasters Day on our South Austin campus! It will be $30 for the full day, but if you can only do part of the day, let us know! You are also welcome to bring a friend for half-price! You may pay in-person or via PayPal to Director@therockenrichmentacademy.org. Email me at admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org to let me know if you’re joining us! The more the merrier.

This campus is located at:

VFW Post 4443
7614 Thomas Springs Rd.
Austin, TX 78736

Portraits SHOULD be out this weekend!

The flu has also impacted my ability to get the portraits out (and I’m testing out a new software program that will hopefully let you order online!). I’ve made progress today though so hopefully I will get through everyone’s pictures this weekend. SO sorry for the delay. I appreciate your patience.

This week’s newsletter is sponsored by:

TREA Newsletter: 10/31-11/4

Hello November! (Almost) So grateful for the rain and cooler weather.

This Week is Crazy HAT Week!

Collecting Extra Halloween Candy!

If you have extra Halloween candy that you would like to share, one of our old teachers, Angela, Klemmer, is collecting candy to take to children in Venezuela. You can hand off your candy to any teacher.

Food Drive Totals!!

If you have any extra items to contribute to the food drive, you still have this week to hand off things. Current totals are as follows:

  • Round Rock/Monday-284lbs
  • CPW Tuesday/Thursday-249
  • CPE/GT Wednesdays-265

I have not added any items that we given on Thursday at CPW or any items donated by Friday campus (yet). To make it the most fair, since our CPW campus hosts about 130 kids and our RR campus hosts about 50 (and Wednesdays combined are sort of in the middle), I’m going to divide total pounds by the number of students on the campus.

This currently means that RR has a significant lead as it is one of our smaller campuses right now.

We donated all donations from this past week to Reveal Resource Center as they were almost completely out of canned/dry goods. We will be taking any additional items collected to the Liberty Hill food pantry as they too are hurting.

Portraits Updates

Our photography class was able to get portraits of almost all students. We have a few stragglers. If your student has been absent the past two weeks, then I have not taken their picture yet. If you would email me at the admin email address to let me know when you will be back on campus so I can make sure to be there to get their picture, that would be great!

Over the next week everyone should get an email from me with proofs for their students pictures! I have not sent any proofs yet, so you have missed nothing if you have not received one.

Tuition is coming up again for November—it is due this week for Tuesday-Friday campuses and due Monday, November 7th for the RR campus.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

TREA Newsletter: 10/24-10/28

Hello! Next few weeks are busy ones!

Pantry Food Drive Coming Up!

Next week is our fall food fundraiser. This will help our local food pantries stock up in time for our Thanksgiving rush! Everything will be weighed and delivered on Friday the 4th of November (so it says just one week, but you have a little cushion!)

Here’s a list of suggestions:

Long-Sleeved Shirts and Hoodies are IN!

The first round of shirt orders is in! Your student should be coming home with a shirt this next week. If they don’t, no worries! We have a couple other pending orders as well.

If you’re interested in ordering a hoodie, car decal, or anything else, you can go here to place your order!

School Portraits…if you missed!

I think I’ve spoken to most of the absent families, but if you missed portraits this week, I will be on campuses next week to take them! We also have a couple of kiddos who had snack on their face, or were squinting so much (Wednesday was a super bright and sunny day!), that I will be reaching out to those families to let you know if we’d like to take a re-take (likely this weekend)

CPW-Voting Strikes AGAIN!

Every year our CPW campus (the church) hosts Early Voting. They’ve moved voting into a different section of the buildings this year, so our classes won’t be shifted around, but you will see extra signs and cones indicating where to go. You might also see additional people on campus. As always, we will leave our doors locked and voters will not have access to students. Drop-off will be in the same location as usual.

Looking Ahead…

The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas Break are busy! From October 31st through November 4th we have Crazy Hat Week!

We will NOT be celebrating Halloween on our campuses as we want to honor the variety of stances on Halloween within our school, but we will have Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character the following week, November 7th-11th, that coincides with our Book Fairs.

To see our full calendar, go here or download below!

TREA Newsletter: 10-17-21

Welcome to a new week!

This week (10/17-21) all students will get a yearbook photo taken! Each family will get emailed their student’s portrait proofs and will have the opportunity to purchase student photos.

Student do not need to wear their blue shirt for pictures! Portraits usually turn out pretty great!

We will be selling prints of various sizes, photo cards, and photo magnets! We will try our best to get sibling photos as well.

I spent all day Tuesday trying to remember what I was forgetting and remembered that evening: I was going to hand out this list to students! They will get a copy of it this week. All donations will be based on weight for the competition! All items need to be canned and/or shelf stable.

Shirts and Car Decals!

Get your own car decal! Or shirt! It’s finally about to get cooler so long sleeved shirts and hoodies are a great way to prepare!

Follow the link to place an order for decals ($5) or clothes (various prices, listed on form).

Upper School Reminders

We always have a lot going on in Upper School. Between Biology projects coming up, weekly reading, and regular homework, learning time management is a must! Parents, please check with your students (and feel free to check in with their teachers!) to see if they might need help balancing out their workload!

That’s all for now! I’ll see everyone this week for pictures!!

Weekly Newsletter: 10/10-10/14

Gear and Such!

If you ordered a long-sleeved SHIRT (SO sorry for the earlier spelling!!) or hoodie, they will be in very soon! Additionally, we got in a shipment of car decals. They’re just $5 each. If you’re interested in a shirt or a decal, submit your order here.

Round Rock Off 10/10

Due to Columbus Day, this campus will be off school! See you 10/17 for picture day!

Picture Day!

All students will get individual yearbook pictures taken next week (10/17-21) on all campuses. Students can wear whatever they wish for pictures. They do not need to wear their blue shirts. They can also bring a shirt to change in to before/after pictures.

Epic Disasters Friday!

Every 2nd Fridays is Epic Disasters Friday on our Southwest Austin All students and their friends are invited to join us! This day will be structured much like a summer camp.

It includes history, science, and other STEM-focused activities. Camp day will be 10:00am to 2:30, but students are welcome to join us anytime that works for them. Full day will be $35. Reach out to me or Mrs. Jay-Turner to sign up!

Google Classroom

If you haven’t gotten on Google classroom yet, please reach out to me for help. So much stuff is posted on Google classroom for individual classes that your students will definitely miss information if they are not on it. If you have not gotten an invite to follow google classroom as a guardian so that you can get weekly emails in your personal/parent email inbox, please also reach out to me!

Google Classroom Help!

Cameras Wanted!!

Do you have an older digital SLR sitting around gathering dust? Our yearbook team needs a few more cameras and we are looking for donations. We will also be selling photography packages after pictures are taken next week to help out. If you have an older camera that you would like to donate, we can provide a 5013C receipt. The type of cameras that we are looking for are the ones with detachable lenses. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions about what we are looking for!

Weekly Newsletter: 10/3-10/7

Hello all! A few reminders for the week:

Tuition is due this week! If you need a reminder about your tuition totals, please reach out!

Picture Day will be the week of October 17th for all students! Students will have their individual portraits taken for yearbook. They will be individually emailed to parents this year. Parents will have the option to purchase prints, photo gifts, or digital photos of their children!

Slow Down!

We’ve noticed a few parents whipping into our parking lots. I know that it’s stressful to be running late! If you’re going to be late, just text me, Angela, or our campus lead to let us know!

This is particularly important at Cedar Park East as it’s a small parking lot area for carpool, all our carpool only flows counter-clockwise, and cutting through the side road forces you through the recovery center’s parking lot.

The speed limits are 10mph!

Watercolors will start staying on campus for all students. We’ve had a few too many incidences where students try to bring wet paints home and their backpacks get wrecked. If you’re on multiple campuses, students will need a watercolor palette for each school day!

Get Labeled!

If your student has a musical instrument please make sure it has a label or a unique identifier!

Earthquakes! And other epic disasters!

Join us on our SWA campus on Friday, October 14th for our once-a-month Epic Disasters camp. We will be covering Earthquakes during the month of October.

Contact us to get signed up!

Need a Hoodie?

It’s not too late to order one! We will be placing a second order soon. Head over to our gear page and submit your order!

Fall into Giving Food Drive!

October 24-28th our campuses will have our Fall food drive. We will be collecting Thanksgiving type pantry foods: chicken broth, stuffing, canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, shelf-stable pie crusts, green beans, etc. We thought we’d have the full needs list this week, but our high schooler heading up the drive needed another week to check our list against the donation centers’ lists!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Weekly Newsletter: 9/26-9/30

Advertise with Us!

Have a business you’d like to share in the weekly newsletter? Or in the yearbook?

Ads in the newsletter start at $10 monthly and go directly towards supporting students and families with supplies that are a little harder to cover the costs for, like cameras for photography and additional science equipment to create more hands-on experiments!

Similarly, ads in the yearbook start at $10 and go up from there!

We’d love to support any local businesses and helps promote our our families! Email admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org to discuss advertising with us!

Tuition Questions?

Thank you for your patience as we have worked to catch up and get ahead on our tuition summaries and totals this year! We are working on an invoicing system, but it’s been a little slower going than we thought it would be!

We are so thankful for all of our families and are excited about the rapid growth we’ve been experiencing as a program!

As a reminder: tuition is due for families who choose to pay monthly the first class day of each month. All May 2023 and fees were due before school started, September payments were due when school started, and October payments are rapidly approaching! Please reach out to Director@therockenrichmentacademy.org for confirmation of tuition paid and scholarship inquiries. Admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org can answer questions about tuition totals and adjustments!

A Look Ahead

Check out our annual calendar for all-campus events coming up!

The week of October 17th all students will get individual fall portraits sponsored by our Photography class! Students do not need to wear their blue shirts for individual pictures. Whole class pictures will be in the Spring!

The week of October 24th is our Fall food drive! Campuses will compete for the most pounds donated! Donation lists/requests from our donation sites will be shared next week! Students will receive a take-home flyer and I’ll post it on the newsletter, too.

Ordered a shirt or hoodie?

Hoodie and long-sleeved orders should be in soon! Currently long-sleeves are available in charcoal and black, so if you ordered a bright blue, please reach out! If you’re still wanting to get some warmer options before it gets cold, send us a note with your order!

Need Google Classroom Help?

Please reach out to me (Mrs. Frankenberg) if you need password resets, help getting into your child’s classroom, etc. You can email me at the Admin address or leave a note here!

Have a wonderful weekend! See you next week!

A Great First Week!

We had a wonderful first week at The Rock! As always, some wrinkles to iron out—we appreciate your patience as we have worked through all the various things! We have so many wonderful families and students and we are so grateful to have your family at TREA!

Just a few reminders for the week:

Google Classroom

If you still haven’t gotten connected to Classroom, let me know! Now that the first week is over, I have the time to manually add students, invite guardians, and get everyone squared away.

Teachers use classroom for weekly updates and to contact parents individually! It is very important that your student uses their Rock Google account that was created for them to sign into Google Classroom and add themselves to each class they are attending.

Those classroom links can be found here!

Google has tons of help information on their help sites, but I’m also completely willing to get you started. Reach out and I will see what I can do!

Don’t lose your instruments!

On most of our campuses students are using violins, ukuleles, cellos, or violas (and soon we will be offering guitar and ukulele in South Austin! Stay tuned or contact us if you’re interested!).

Please make sure there is something identifying/distinguishing your student’s instrument. Most students have a black case. You can tie a ribbon on it, label it with fabric paint, anything that would help your child find their instrument in the sea of others!

Second Fridays Epic Disasters and Book Club on South Austin Campus!

Once a month we will be hosting a second Friday CS Lewis book club on our South Austin campus for our MS/HS students. The first book club meeting is October 14th!

We will also be turning our fun Epic Disasters summer camp into a monthly class! Each month we will cover an epic disaster—we will look at disasters from a scientific perspective utilizing meteorology, engineering, and problem solving to understand and improve upon man-made and natural disasters.

Contact Mrs Jay Turner or me about joining us once a month in South Austin!

Last weeks reminders!

If you missed the meet and greet or pick-up/drop-off instructions, please review last week’s Newsletter.

School Starts Next Week!

Hello all! We are gearing up and getting ready to start school this next week!

Meet and Greets

Our Round Rock campus had its Meet and Greet last week and our CPW Tuesday Pre-K-6th students had theirs today. If you still haven’t gotten squared away with Google Classroom, let me know! I’m happy to help.

All the remaining campuses will have their Meet and Greet this coming week. Most campuses meet at 10:00 am. Our new Georgetown campus will have theirs tomorrow at 1:00 pm!

The remaining schedule includes:

  • CPE tomorrow (Wednesday 9/7) at 10:00 am
  • GT tomorrow (Wednesday 9/7) at 1:00 pm
  • CPW Thursday STEM, Orchestra, and all Tuesday and Thursday Upper School students Thursday, 9/8 at 10:00 am
  • SA Friday 9/9 at 10:00 am

Georgetown Campus Launch Tomorrow!

Any families are invited to join us tomorrow at 1:00 pm to tour the campus and get entered into raffles! We will be giving away shirts and tote bags. We will also be raffling off waived enrollment fees to anyone who registers to join us as a new family or adds an additional day of TREA!

This campus is located at: 3800 Shell Road Georgetown, TX 78628.

Google Classroom

All Classroom join links are posted on our website under Stay Connected.

I will be adding them to the campus resources page over the next few days!

You’ll also get hard copies at your campus Meet and Greets.

Changes in Enrollment?

If you’ve gotten a welcome email or any reminder within the past couple of weeks, that means I still think you’re dropping your students off with us this next week when school begins! If your plans have changed and you’re no longer planning on having your students attend, please let us know! You can email admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org to update us on your plans!

See you guys soon!

It’s Almost Go Time!

Hello! We are counting down the days to our Meet and Greets and the start of school! I’m hoping to include a few helpful reminders, a couple updates (anyone notice they haven’t gotten a Google invite yet? Sorry about that…) and some campus news!

We officially have a Georgetown campus!

We are excited to announce that we have officially launched our newest campus! Our new Georgetown location will host Kindergarten through 12th grade classes. We still have plenty of space at this campus, so let us know if you’d like to consider adding it to your courses! Please consider spreading the word to area homeschoolers as well. It’s right near 195 and about 1/3 the way between I-35 and Parmer (closer to I-35). Perfect for our far north families and those who want to go against the flow of morning traffic!

Google Invites!

Each new family will be receiving an invitation to receive their own @therockenrichment email address so that students can join their Google Classrooms. The plug-in I’d previously used to create new users AND send them invite emails at the same time doesn’t work any more, so everyone is getting a manual invite. As such, families will receive their invites the day before their campus Meet and Greet. The invite links expire within 48 hours, so this will allow me to help out any families who need help getting started before the invite links expire and I have to reset them. Google Classroom codes will be available for all families, both new and returning, at the Meet and Greets as well. If you’re a returning family, you will continue to use your students same account. If you need passwords reset to gain access, let me know!

Supply Lists!

Supply lists for the school year are up! They have been updated to note which items can be left on campus and which ones are considered individual items. We also added a couple things to the CPE Science needs. Don’t stress if you don’t have those items ready for the beginning of the school.

Epic Disasters all year!

Everyone had so much fun at Epic Disasters Camp a couple of weeks ago, that we’ve decided to host 2nd Friday Disasters at our South Austin campus. Each month we will cover engineering disasters, natural disasters, and more! All students and friends are welcome to join us!

For older students, we will also be hosting a monthly CS Lewis book club at our SWA campus. This is in addition to our traditional Friday weekly Kinder through Upper School curriculum that we are offering.

Meet and Greets

Monday the 29th we will have our first campus Meet and Greet of the year. This will begin at 10:00am. All Meet and Greets are as follows:

  • Round Rock-Monday, August 29th 10:00am
  • Cedar Park West-Tuesday, September 6th 10:00am. All Pre-K-6th students. STEM, Orchestra, and ALL Upper School will have their Meet and Greet on Thursday
  • Cedar Park East-Wednesday, September 7th 10:00 am. All students.
  • Georgetown-Wednesday, September 7th This is both a Meet and Greet for enrolled families and an Open House for curious families. Come at 1pm to meet the teachers, tour our newest campus, and get entered to win a raffle for enrollment discounts! All families new and returning are welcome! Our newest campus is at 3800 Shell Road Georgetown, TX
  • Cedar Park West-Thursday, September 8th 10:00am. All STEM, Orchestra and Advanced Orchestra and ALL (Tuesday and Thursday) Upper School Students.
  • Southwest Austin-Friday, September 9th 10:00am. Come meet our new teachers and hear about all the exciting things we have planned for this campus!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Finally, Yearbooks!

After a few tears and many days of working and waiting, the books are finally here!

I will be a few different places to make sure you’re able to get your book:

-I will have a table at the Violin Try-Ons this Wednesday, April 17th, at our Cedar Park East campus from 12pm-1:30pm!

-I will also be bringing them to all Meet and Greets! (If you didn’t get the email with that information, let me know!). Those are from 10am-11am on all campuses!

-If you’ve moved, changed schools, can’t make it, let me know! I am happy to do a porch drop-off or to ship it via media mail! Just email me at Admin@therockenrichmentacademy.org!

I appreciate your patience! Our printer also works with public schools and it seems like our order got pushed to the last printing since we weren’t ordering as many books and it’s just me threatening them and not a whole school administration team, haha.

See you soon!

Violin Try-On and Measurements Event 8/17

Hello all,

I have gotten a few questions asking about the violin Tryon day, so I just wanted to make a separate newsletter so that everyone can see it.

On August 17th at our Cedar Park East campus Mrs Sargent and Mrs. A are hosting a violin measurement/try-on event.

This event is from 12:00-1:30pm and is mandatory for all violin students.

Students who will need to be at this event are:

  • Monday RR 3rd-6th graders who want to play violin (violin is not required but optional)
  • Tuesday CPW Upper School students taking Orchestra
  • All Wednesday CPE 3rd-6th graders
  • All students who will be attending our Georgetown/formerly known as NWRR campus and taking Orchestra
  • All CPW Thursday Orchestra students

information about renting violins from Mrs. Sargent and the information you would need to purchase a violin will be available at this event!

Please do not make the mistake I made and purchase a violin for your student prior to being measured professionally and prior to hearing Mrs. Sargent‘s input on where to buy a violin. Her suggestion to me when I needed to buy one for my daughter was to buy one from Southwest Strings. I was able to find a higher quality used/refurbished one for a lower cost than the one I bought on Amazon.

The address for this location is: 1775 E Whitestone Cedar Park, TX 78613

We will be in the back building/gym. The entrance closest to the playground will be opened at noon!

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! See you then!
