4/2 Monday Highlights/Homework

++ SCIENCE with Mrs. Cecil-
We explored food chains and learned ALL living things are dependent on plants! We played “eat or be eaten”, making food webs/chains. We also enjoyed the plants and critters the kids brought in from home! We even saw a wasp’s stinger up close and touched an Easter Garden!
Homework: keep bringing in the critters and plants! Also, ask your students what the closest cousin to a “pill bug/rollie-pollie.”

++SPANISH with Mrs. Lomas

Dear parents,

This month we have been learning about food and I would like to have a food tasting day on April 9 and 10. I’m asking parents to please help provide fruit so students may make fruit salad in class.

Each girl and boy in each grade is asked bring enough of the specified fruit below to feed 3 classmates 1 serving each .

K/1: Girls – Grapes, Boys – Blueberries

1/2: Girls -Watermelon, Boys – Strawberries

3/4: Girls – Pears, Boys – Oranges

5/6: Girls- Bananas, Boys- Apples

I’ll bring cups, spoons and napkins. Please send any fruit washed and precut if possible (except pears & bananas) and have your child bring them to a designated table outside the Spanish room at each campus next Monday & Tuesday.

Monday Spanish highlights:

K/1 Students reviewed colors with a coloring page of an octopus (pulpo) review a learning video about colors, days of the week, months of the year, greetings and head, shoulders, knees and toes (cabeza, hombros, rodillas y pies)

1/2 & 3/4 -Students learned Spanish alphabet with animal names and practiced vocabulary with a fun game.

5/6 Students learned Spanish pronunciation and vocabulary with a fun game.

++MARTIAL ARTS with Shihan Yochum:
