Hello TREA parents! Welcome back to winter! If you have not yet paid tuition, please remember that it is due this week. If you are traveling or forgot and do not want it to be late, please ask me about a PayPal option.
This week I will be sending the class lists for each grade at all locations. These lists may be used to make Valentine cards for all classmates in your child’s homeroom. We are encouraging them to specify a character trait they admire in each of their classmates. (As I go back and forth from iPhone to laptop, not all updates have been saving correctly so if you notice an error in spelling etc. please let me know). Also, if your child has food sensitivities or allergies and you have not yet turned in a printed food allergy sheet to his/her homeroom teacher, please do so this week. Thank you.
Here’s something fun for tomorrow- *WEDNESDAY BAKE SALE during Character Building/lunch, baked and hosted by Mary Jane in 5/6 to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital ❤️ There will be gluten-free coconut macaroon and chocolate chip cookie options, and children are welcome to bring money to purchase and enjoy delicious homemade treats benefiting a great cause!
Also regarding this Wednesday, we will miss Mrs. Kaderli again, and this week she is visiting family in Costa Rica. We’re excited to have Shihan Yokum join us again for some Martial Arts fun!
Below are some Monday and Tuesday highlights. We had a wonderful musical today with a lot of pictures and video to share; look for more on our parent Facebook page.
SPANISH with Mrs. Lomas (RR & CPW)*K/1 learned “clothing” (watched a video about clothing and parts of the body).
*1/2 learned parts of the face, watched a video about the parts of face and parts of the body.
*3/4 learned parts of the body and vocabulary.
*5/6 RR students learned parts of the body, vocabulary and watched a video to enforce what they learned.
Our MARTIAL ARTS Student of the Month at our RR location is Elijah! Elijah was recognized for his dedication, focus and incredibly respectful behavior. Way to go!!
Our CPE Student of the Month for Martial Arts was absent so we look forward to sharing that great news next week! We are very proud of these kiddos!
MUSIC (CPW) with Mrs. Larsen:
Thank you to all the parents for coming to our musical. I’m so thrilled with each student for a great show! Everyone played their parts well. Thanks for all your hard work with costumes, especially the adorable lambs. One student told me proudly that it was her first musical. I hope everyone had a great experience. I didn’t get to publicly thank Ms. Newell who ran our music and helped setup, and Mr. Yokum as our wolf. Also, you should all be very proud of your students, esp 5/6 graders who willingly carried heavy pillars, tables with such a helpful attitude. I can’t stop smiling thinking about all those beautiful children’s voices singing about hard work, sincerity.
Next week: My homeroom class, 5/6 will have a Valentines’ celebration during character building. Please send each 5/6 student with a card for their 5/6 classmates. I’d like the cards to specifically name a trait they admire about each classmate.
(Mrs. Turner will have the list out soon).
Here are pics from the musical, The Boy Who Cried Wolf…
Wonderful job all!!
Final note: Thank you for the prayers for healing this morning. Nausea hit me mid morning and I was temporarily “quarantined” before the start of the musical. God heard those prayers and after eating, I returned to the sanctuary to hear the beautiful voices and laughter, surrounded by our amazing teaching staff and families. Not only have I continued to feel better with each passing hour, I now have another testimony of the power of prayer and the quick healing that left me in blessed company. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us each week, and thank you, teachers, for the talent and love you share!
