TREA Family Holiday Feast, Fun Run and Service Project – Items collected this week!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and enjoyed extra time with family and friends! I am just returning from an eight day trip to Colorado with family, so sorry for the late email.

This week at both RR and CP locations we will be collecting donations for our blessing bags and family event on Dec. 3. (All items and money need to be submitted by Wednesday, November 30.) If you are bringing $10 for your child, please seal it in an envelope with his or her name written on it. During morning drop off or afternoon pick up, look for a bin or large bag in which to place items to be donated (at the front of the church in RR and at the carpool line in CP). Below are highlights from the email sent out before the break. Look for another email with a sign-up genius link for our potluck lunch early this week. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all this week!

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming HOLIDAY FEAST with a Fun Run and a great SERVICE PROJECT for the kids on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3 from 10:30am-1:30pm. We will meet at the pavilion in Tumlinson Park in the Blockhouse Creek Subdivision, 2600 Blockhouse Drive South, Leander. We need everyone to pitch in for this, but it will be so much fun!

We will kick the morning off with a Fun Run for kids and parents alike, followed by a potluck meal and fellowship. After the meal, the 5th/6th graders will lead the younger students in making blessing bags for the homeless. The blessing bags will contain a note of encouragement and love, along with nonperishable food items, bottled water, wet wipes, a toothbrush, socks, gloves, a warm hat, and some fresh fruit. The goal is to teach the children compassion, selflessness, service, and leadership.

To make the blessing bags stretch further, we are asking for $10 per child to purchase the supplies in advance. This will allow us to purchase in bulk, which will make each dollar stretch to put more in each bag. Cash or checks made payable to TREA is due by Nov. 30. This $10 will also serve as your child’s RSVP to the event and a collection box will be at each TREA location on school days.

In addition, IF you can also help by donating any of the items below, they will be MUCH appreciated. There will be a plastic tub available to drop these items off at carpool each week starting tomorrow (Nov. 16th) and the week of Nov. 30th If you are unable to attend in the 3rd, items listed below may still be donated.
