Hello RR parents! What an eventful rainy day, and wow did it ever fly by. Your kiddos selflessly traded almost 22 pounds of candy for a great cause and healthier alternatives and prizes. Some of the alternatives included bulk items I found at Whole Foods, Natural Grocers or Sprouts but all are free of food dyes and preservatives; instead flavored and colored with fruit and vegetable juices (such as beet juice) and sweetened with less processed and more natural sugars.
Your children may have already told you, but Mrs. Lagmanson (Mrs. L.) was in a car accident on the way to the church this morning. She is sore but is resting at home and will be excited to be back with the kids next week. Prayers for her are appreciated. In all Art classes kiddos decorated get well cards and their kind words were so heartwarming! Some classes worked with molding clay too. K/1 had the privilege of working under the leadership of our fifth and sixth graders. 5/6 grade girls have accepted a leadership challenge to assist the K/1 and 5/6 boys will be assisting , as needed, the 1/2 class. What amazing hearts and leadership skills they have!
During lunch/recess we played a DVD from the Learn Our History entitled “One Nation Under God”. Senora K brought popcorn for the children (Thank you Mrs. K). As a reminder, there will be no classes the week of November 21 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a blessed rest of the week!
