Art January 13th

This week we studied Matisse and his paper cutouts in Art. I think all the students really enjoyed getting to hear about his passion for his work and his new techniques that really changed how art was both done and displayed. This next week we will be studying the Russian expressionist painter Kandinsky. For the younger two classes we will focus on learning and replicating his simpler circle paintings, while 3rd-6th grade will focus on learning about his more complex works.
3rd-6th graders who have a protractor at home are welcome to bring it this next week!
He’s an interesting character and artist due to the fact that he was a well-trained musician who use art to reveal the music in his mind.
Looking forward to seeing you all next week.
